Dane Rupert wins Big Brother Canada 7 on unanimous vote
After a season of domination, Dane Rupert has been crowned the winner of Big Brother Canada Season 7, defeating Anthony Douglas and Kyra Shenker to take home the $100,000 prize.
Thursday’s season finale saw the final three battle it out in a three-part Head of Household competition to secure their place in the final two.
For part one, the final three had to slide in the water under a bamboo ladder to get disks back and forth. The first houseguest to stack all 25 disks would be the winner and advance to the final round.
All three struggled, Anthony was one away from winning but his stack fell. Kyra and Dane both had their stack fall but Dane would recover in time to win the first part of the HoH.
The second part saw Kyra and Anthony complete a puzzle about certain events in the house. Kyra completed the challenge in just over 15 minutes but Anthony got frustrated and after the first question.
This would lead to a Dane and Kyra showdown for the final Head of Household and a spot in the final two. The two had to answer questions about the events of the season, after six questions it would be Dane as the final HoH of the season.
Dane would need to make one big decision, who to take with him to the finals. It was a tough decision but he chose to evict Kyra, which only made them upset as they left the house.
“You lied to me,” they said. “Why did you lie to me?”
Following their eviction, Kyra exited the house and spoke to host Arisa Cox about finishing third.
“I got played,” they said. “Dane promised me he’d take me to the final two.”
Once Kyra joined the jury, it was time to get some answers. Dane easily beat Anthony in this area as he actually had some real answers, while Anthony hyped up his game without much to show for it.
Arisa returned to announce the winner, revealing Dane had won Big Brother Canada by a unanimous 7-0 vote.
“I honestly can’t believe this right now,” Dane said of his win. “I love you all so much. This is the best game ever. I really miss my dad. Mental health is a serious issue. It’s okay not to be okay but its not okay to stay in that mindframe. Dad, this one is for you.”
As the winner, Dane takes home the $100,000 cash prize, a $25,000 home makeover from Leon’s, $10,000 worth of groceries courtsey of Summer Fresh, and a trip anywhere in the world from Contiki Holidays.
